This is a four line Verse of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-u-Din Noorani (R.A) known as WAKH in Kashmiri and is similar to a Roubhayee in Persian literature.
In this Wakh, Hazrat Noor-u-Din Noorani wants to educate us about the essence and qualities of a real Aashiq Haq.
He compares a Butterfly to a house fly.
He says when an illuminated Candle spreads light in the pitch dark night, it is the butter fly which circles round the candle, till she goes so close to the illuminating flame that it gets herself burnt to spread for a while the same light which the candle was spreading by becoming the part and parcel of the candle although for a simple momentary period.
Sheikh says that this is not known to a simple fly, who is only seeking worldly things day in and day out. She (Fly) is not brimmed with the love for the Illuminating candle and the light spreading out of it, in the same way as it is only the deep sea divers who know the value of pearls; and how can we expect from an animal to know the safe way to shore like wise a fly cannot get enchanted to circle the Illuminated Candle to get herself merged to form the illuminating flame of the candle to enlighten the people seated in pitch darkness.
