Four Gifts

By Abdul Rahim Khan,Rtd KAS,
Pulwama.

I was told by my Peer Sahib Jenab-e-Sada Abdul Rahman (R.A) that Prophet Mohummed  (SAW) gifted out four valuable things to Hazrat Ali Karam Allah-u-Tall’a wajahu.
These four things were:-
 a, Kashkoul( A begging Bowel) b, A Wooden  Stick c, Chaadder(Parrdah) d, Kullah (Cap)
These four things, were not so important for an ordinary thinking person, having myopic vision, thought and conception.
When we look to these four things these four things are sine quo non for every TRUTH SEEKER.
But before treading on this prickly path one must ponder over these four very important stages of a FAQIR.
Before entering into this arena one must have abundance of craving for knowing the HAQ.
For this purpose he has to prostrate himself, beg and strive to get to the truth. He has to use all means and faculties of his thinking for the pursuit of truth. So, his heart should in essence be a “Begging Bowel”, which of course is having blackish colour and capacity to have & preserve the donation of some Rich philanthropist (THE FAQIR).
The STICK is a supporting arm; and this arm which will help him, not to get disheartened, tired or dismayed but will lead him towards Truth.
This Stick is the teachings of the GUIDE, from time to time as per the capacity and absorption power of the Disciple; and which supports him from one Stage to reach to another Stage gradually and systematically.
Why the STICK was made to symbolize this fact because the revelations of truth from stage to stage is highly dangerous, if the capacity of the Disciple is short in any type of manifestation.
Therefore, the Stick also symbolized the dangers within the seeking of TRUTH.
The third thing which was awarded to Hazrat Ali (KAW) was a CHAADER. We know a blanket covers the whole body from cold and other things likewise Truth once revealed and taken by the Seeker needs to be kept from cold persons (Having no love for learning and knowing the vistas of ethereal, pure and serene facts of the whole Universe, its purpose and other related matters. So it is very important to keep it as a highly guarded secret from those who are non-lovers of it.
And when you accomplish and perfect, your knowledge of the TRUTH, not only by words, sentences lectures, books, articles etc but by experiencing the effect of all these facts which have been revealed to you, on your soul and body. and there after you are in a position to deliver, you are awarded a KULLAH (CROWN) by your Murshid and you become a knowledgeable person.
These are the four stages which secretly Prophet Mohammed (SAW) conveyed to Hazrat Ali(KAW) by these four awards.
