In the vistas of mystical world,
the status of “PEER-E-TAREEQAT” is indespensible; and it is the same master,
guide and philosopher who take you from the ordinary world of living an
ordinary life, to the galaxies of pure, aesthetic, subtle world of class
thinking, real and matter-of-fact beautiful approach to life.
Once you perform the basics by
preparing yourself for entering into the new world of “Mystics”, you are
mentally & physically ready for “BAYAT”.
You are in an oath ceremony,
wherein, you sit in front of your Guide/ Peer/ Rehabber who take an oath from
you and you merrily and happily perform all what is dictated by your Peer
Sahib. You are given some Verse of Holy Quran to recite within and not without.
This Verse for you become a “WAZEEFA” for the periods to come.
Now you have nothing to do what
your sensual world want or require you to do. You have absolutely work and
behave as your Peer Sahib wants to do, which of course is within the precincts
of Islam in a more advanced and high thinking and performing way.
The way Prophet Mohammad (SAW)
reacted to the World at large from the time of His (SAW) Holistic Birth to His
(SAW) Zaheree Wisaal becomes sine quo non to you, for your day to day performance
& dealings, in this short period of life,
This unconditional acceptance for
future performance is known as “Handing over of IRRADAH” to the Peer-e-Zaman.
This places you in a position where you can do nothing which does not have the
sanction of your Peer Sahib. You have always to bear in mind that your Peer
Sahib demands from you the practical implementation with three conditions viz
I, Ebadaat (Recitation within heart, the Verse of Holy Quran given by Peer
Sahib, as Ziker especially every moment & Time with other usual prayers)
II, Amal (Performance as you pray in every RAQA-ET OF NIMAZ) and the third one
is to have the subtle INTENTION in performing above two things.
While doing so you have to built
your absolute FAITH that your Peer-e-Mugaan & Zaman is intently and closely
watching your performance when physically he may not be with you every time and
day. So you have to always bear this fear in your soul & mind that whether
your performance is exactly to the dictum of your Peer Sahib ;& quite in
line with what is expected of you, in performing the imposed Duties.
You experience tremendous and
total change in your life style. You do not perform according to you own wish
and will in your new and future life; but as per the dictates of your Guide Peer
Sahib. Your minutest error, on this account, may lob you in trouble. Your
suspicion or doubt regarding anything said or done by Peer Sahib deprives you
of whole of the performance known as “Reyazat” done so for by you. You again
are at the thrush hold of wherefrom you started your new journey known as “Sufi
individual & collective Culture”.
Mind it that you do not lose what
you had achieved so for, by your mere brazen mistake, error or folly!
By practical, faithful and honest
approach towards the teachings of Peer Sahib, you travel the Universe of
realism, sophisticated culture, Self Realization, research of where was I
before my birth / wherefrom did I came into this World, why I am here in this
world and where I have to go after this world!
These are the real questions of
life and its purpose! Won’t you like to have answer to these pertinent
questions!
Prophet Mohammad (SAW) said “MUN
ARFAH NUFSAHOO, FAQAD ARFAH RUBAHOO”. You are require to travel within though
the Universe of your own Being to find the “TRUTH”.
Once you cross the borders of all
these staring and stunning stages, you
are taught that “Everything which you see, feel or observe is having existence
because of Almighty Allah”. Nothing exists without His intention, wish and
order. When you become totally absorbed into this thought and faith, you are
asked to know more about it. You are told that anything solid, liquid or in
gaseous form is because of Him. Nothing would exist without His presence in it.
Its shape ,colour, size, power, characteristics is because His presence within
and without Him. Whatever we see or only feel by touch or by mind is due to His
entire presence. This stage is known as “HAMA AZ OUST”.
This culture gives birth to the
thinking that Allah is there; and I exist because He lives within me. We call
it Talib-u-Matloub Stage of Sufi Culture.
At this stage we do have two
explicit examples to illustrate our view point regarding “Hama Az Oust” &
“Hama Oust”
So for “Hama Az Oust” culture of
Sufistic Thought is concerned the same can be understood from the following
story.
There was a young youthful person
full of lust and vigour who accompanied his young and sensual “Keep” with him.
They in the course of travel entered a lane which had lot of mud here and
there. There was one “Faqir” of great eminence & attainment playing with
the mud by thrashing a thick stick on it, while an innocent smile was on his
face. The splashes of pasty mud would fling in every direction. When the woman
accompanying the youth, reached near the
“Faqir” , he thrust the stick with greater force onto the mud, resulting in
fast moving mud-splash in all directions. The muddy splashes got fixed on the
white shinning and dazzling clothes of the “Keep”, making her looks ugly and
unbeautiful.
This could not be tolerated by
the lustful youth and for giving a befitting lesson to the “Faqir”, in his
thinking, he raised his hand to smash the “Faqir”. The whole arm of the Lustful
youth got hung in the air and so “Faqir” could not be smashed, in any way.
Instead the Youth’s arm got hung in air and could not return to its normal
place i.e to the side parallel to his rib cage. He tried to get his arm
medicated through well known Physicians of the time but with no improvement.
After a pretty long time, some sane person advised him to visit the
same “Faqir” in all sobriety and humility and beg from him pardon for the folly
he made for his “Keep”.
He after a long pursuit and
exercise in this behalf, could find him (The Faqir) in the same unassuming way,
in one of the lanes sitting on a side with a usual smile playing at his lips,
The ailing Youth requested the
Saint to forgive him for his misdeed of beating him (The Saint). The saint had
a hearty laughter and then he said to the Youth. “I don’t know you. Why would
you beat me? I know nothing. I do not feel that you have ever beaten me and at
the same time why would you beat me?”.
The Youth in pain and trouble
narrated the whole event which occurred earlier. The tears continued to run
down his cheeks all the time.
The Saint told him that he did
not know that he (The Youth) had beaten him (The Saint) and in case such thing
has ever happened the Saint has not done anything in retaliation to the Youth.
The Youth was surprised on this
narration of the Saint and he with all the respect at his
command humbly tried to know that
when Saint has nothing done against him (The Youth) then who has done him the
harm?
The Saint with the smiling nature
asked the Youth, “O.K. Why did you beat me?” The Youth replied that he had his
girl friend with him (The Youth) and he was in deep love with her and when
beating of mud by Saint stained her dazzling white clothes all over, while
walking through that lane, he (The Lover Youth) could not bear a bad treatment
with his beloved, at the hands of anybody including him (The Saint).
Again The Saint burst into a
laughter and asked the Youth another question. O.K. “From what time or period
you are in deep love with your beloved?”. The Youth replied and mentioned a
period of 2 to 3 years.
The Saint said with all the
seriousness in the world that he (The Saint) has also fallen in deep and
inseparable love with his (The Saint’s) Murshid Pakh (The Spiritual Guide)
since a very long time: and His (The Guide’s) love & affection is always
whirling around the Saint and keeps (The Saint) close watch all over him (The
Saint). “As you have not tolerated the stains on the clothes of your beloved,
how could my Murshid tolerate your beating me! Go! And get pardon from Him (My
Spiritual Guide) ;as I have done nothing to you” . This is a thoughtful example
of love, affection, protection and consistent-cum-constant watch over disciple
by Murshid.
The “Noor” has not as yet taken
full roots within the heart of the Disciple and he rests his belief that
whatever exists , exists because of Him, the All Powerful.
Now, another story is of a great
Saint Bayazzied Bastami R.A, who once told to his disciples that he wants to
take a nap for some time. He further advised them not to leave him alone as he
has a habit of talking during sleep.
The obedient and faithful
disciples remained unmoved under the orders of the Murshid and continued to
watch their Fakir in sleep. After some time the Bayazzid-e-Bostami R.A started
murmuring and the audience was astonished when Hazrat-e- Bayazzid R.A muttered
that “He is Allah”.
The annoyance of Peer-u-Murshid
forced disciples to speak out. They said in one voice, ”Hazrat! Your Great Self
spoke that you are God”.
Murshid-e-Bayazzid R.A said that
it was wrong to say such words; and in case he (Murshid) again spoke these
words, the Disciples are under the divine law ordered to slain him and make
pieces of him.
Murshid Bayazzid (R.A) took
another nap and again spoke out the same words.
When he woke up, he again asked
his disciples if he had spoken anything. They again remained mum.
Murshid in rage asked them to
speak the truth. The Disciples per force spoke what they had heard, which of
course was the same “I am God”. He told them when he(Murshid) had spoken the
same words again, why the Murshid was not killed by his disciples?
The disciples said in one voice
that they had followed his orders in letter and spirit but swords pierced
through the body of the Murshid as if passing through water without any harm to
the body of the Murshid.
Now the Murshid said that “when
you have put in all efforts to cut & chop me into pieces by swords but no
harm has been inflicted upon my body then it is not me who has spoken these
words but the same Power---the Mighty ALLAH has spoken these words and not me”
what he meant by saying so that
the Almighty Allah vested in him and he is deprived of his self and so whatever
happens , it happens because of the Allah and not him, the Saint.
