On Cow

I remind a beautiful story about my peer-o-murshid,Jenab Abdul Rehman Sada(RA).The story is a majestic illustration of his great character and love for humainity.I was told that one day his (RA) family members decided to persuade him to sell their cow.Infact they have been pressing this demand for quite some time.My Murshid (RA) allways gave them a patient hearing.He wished the cow should stay in the home.Indeed, he knew what was to come.So, he (RA) remained patient.

                       As the time progressed, the demand for selling the domestic cow was growing louder and louder.Perhaps the cow was not giving enough milk.So finally my Murshid (RA) realised that his family members are very determined that the cow should go.He (RA) sold the cow for 17,000 Rs to the person who hailed from another village.
                                          I am told that the cow was sold after the villager (buyer) had properly inspected it.Nothing was kept hidden from him.It was the most transparent and just transaction.Such are the ways of my beloved Murshid paakh (RA).He kept the money under a straw mat knowing well that its owner will need it back soon.Such was his (RA) vision and no doubt saints are always visionary.And yet after some days this villager came to my Murshids home.When he knocked at the door it was Jenab Abdul Rahman Sada (RA) who opened it for him.Looking deeply into his eyes Sada Sahib (RA) called his wife and told her to return RS 17,000 to this man.The man was quite perturbed.He related the whole story at once and how the cow died this morning.Witnessing this great character he humbly denied to take the money back .He told my Murshid (RA) that it was his loss and he (RA) is not accountable for this.He belived the early transctation was fare and he was not cheated in any way.But my Murshid (RA) knew the innermost hearts.He knew it had to happen, thats perhaps what explains his(RA) initial reluctance to sell the cow.My murshid (RA) told him that the cow which died is mine (RA) and he should not worry.So he recived his money back.Hope you like this story.
